I was
struggling trying to tighten the alternator drive belt using a pry bar
to put upward force on the alternator and decided to try something different
and rigged up a small ratchet web belt to do the tightening job.
The ratchet belt proved to be a great way to put upward force on the alternator
while freeing up my hands to tighten the fasteners. Below is a photo
of the setup I used. The ratchet belt can be purchased at any hardware
store for about $8.
